34 ee WINNETKA TALK August 13, 1927 Golf View Area Location of New Residence Sites Four residences are to be erected in North Shore Golf View having a com- bined cost in excess of $100,000. They will be situated off Glenview road and near Glenayre station of the Skokie valley line. On one side will be North Shore Golf club and on the other the Forest Preserve. E. R. McCracken will erect a French chateau type residence, a feature of which will be a shooting gallery under the ninety feet drive- way. Charles A. Gilmore will build a home of Normandy design, while Herbert J. Lorber and A. V. Z. Jen- nings will put up residences in En- glish architecture. C. W. Lampe is architect and the building department of George F. Nixon and company will erect them. Chicago Banker Acquires Residence in Winnetka Richard A. Aishton,-assistant cashier of the Continental & Commercial Na- tional bank of Chicago has purchased through Hill & Stone's Winnetka of- fice the colonial residence of A. E. Willert at 383 Sunset road, and ex- pects to occupy the property before school opening in September. Mr. Aishton is a former resident of Win- netka, having occupied the Corvinus property on Ridge avenue until last Spring. Becker of 6921 Oglesby ave- nue, Chicago, comptroller of Chicago Mill and Lumber company and also vice-president in charge of finance of the Container Corporation of America, has purchased approximately 114 acres of wooded property at the corner of Avoca and Mohawk roads. Root and Hollister, Inc., have made a landscaped layout for the construction of a 9-room brick Colonial by Bills Bros., Inc., of which S. S. Beman of Winnetka is the architect. Robert Wilson of Bills Realty, Inc., negotiated the sale. C. O. Bedell of 2537 Hartray avenue, Evanston, advertising manager of But- ler Brothers, has purchased the wood- ed property on Mohawk road of 100x210 feet. John Howell of Bills Realty, Inc.; negotiated the sale. Mr Bedell"s property is directly opposite the three acres of H. W. Drucker of Wilmette, who has let the contract to Bills Bros., Inc., for the construction of a large Colonial home of twelve rooms. Root and Hollister have com- pleted the landscape layout. G. W. Horstman of 2734 Winnemac avenue, Chicago, production manager of The Palmolive-Peet company, has purchased a 34 acre estate on Locust road just south of the new residence, Indian Hill Tudor, which is rapidly nearing completion. Jirah D. Cole of Bills Realty, Inc., negotiated the sale. Mr. Horstman has arranged. for the construction of a fine 8-room residence of English design. A. C. Rindskopf of 801 Cass street, Chicago, an artist and interior de- signer, has purchased one of the four estates remaining of the sixteen wood- ed lawns available on Mohawk road. Mr. Rindskopf is, himself, rapidly com- pleting his design for a 7-room Eng- lish house with studio. Mr. Whitney Wa and L. C. Horton negotiated the sale. H. D. Merrell, 2435 Dempster street, Evanston, of the Edison High school faculty, has purchased a large lawn on Iroquois in between the two new residences, Indian Hill Colonial and Indian Hill Charment. Ralph Silver- wood of Bills Realty, Inc., negotiated the sale. From the Sheridan road office of Bills Realty, Inc., contracts for the sale of residential and vacant property in Wilmette, Kenilworth and Winnetka, approximating $150,000, have been sign- ed during the past week, the details of which will be announced when de- livery of deeds is made.
