August 27, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Invite Boys to Carve Names in | Hall Bell Tower As the result of the foresight of Vil-| lage Manager H. lL. Woolhiser, years | in the future when Winnetka boys of today have grown to manhood return] to visit the clock tower in the Village | hall they will find inscribed there in their own hand-writing their names and names of their boyhood chums. It is not permissable for boys to carve their names in the bark of the village trees, as did the boys in former days, but they are not to be denied the pleasure of placing their names where they may be preserved for fu- ture posterity. A large board, on which to write these names instead of carving them theron with a jack knife, has been placed in the tower and Mr. Wool- hiser wants all Winnetka boys to feel | at liberty to come in and sign up. If] you have previously made a trip to the top of the tower, come again, and sign your name, this time. You are requested to come at 11 o'clock on Saturdays to visit the clock tower. Once again preserving time is upon us and every- one is going to be kept busy filling up the vacancies in the fruit cellar. Preserving is quite a task, but it can be made considerably easier when the proper utensils are at hand. So before you begin this tedious work, you'd better take inventory and see that you have the proper equipment.
