Hibbard Back From Honolulu Journey Mrs. William Gold Hibbard, of 840 Willow road, returned Saturday from her Honolulu trip. She was one of the | delegates to the Institute of Pacific Re- lations, held there for two weeks. She stayed on for another week before re- turning to this country, and visited her sister, Mrs. Brown Caldwell, in Santa Barbara, for a week, before her return to Winnetka. She brought with her Miss Gertrude Ely of New York, who spent two days here. Winnetka { POOP OOOO OOOON TT TTT TTY I Uptown Chicago Is Pictured as Great Summer Playground The popularity of Chicago as a sum- mer resort is by no means over-esti- mated if the scenes at Uptown Chi- cago's beaches and pleasure places are any indication of conditions in the rest of the city, according to the Cen- tral Uptown Chicago association. Thousands disport themselves in the water and on the dance floors of this community. Many are in evidence who in former years traveled to noted resorts. One of these remarked, when questioned concerning her views of Chicago in the summer, that in years of travel to places of world-wide fame, she had never found one that excelled Uptown Chicago in means for pleasant vacationing, if one looked around a bit and learned what there was to do and where to do it.
