Every day finds them at their task, unpacking furniture, tug- ging it about, lifting mattresses, shov- ing things in place and getting all in readiness. Up at the windows will soon go the beautiful English prints which an important firm of decorators is giving and hanging as its gift to the clubhouse--a service made possible only through its ap- preciation of Mrs. Hines' influence. Down in the English basement din- ingroom the decorating'is being com- pleted. Pillars and castings are paint- ed in soft Chinese blue with touches of gold. A Colonial wallpaper has been hung and Colonial chandeliers of crystal and pewter swing from ropes of soft blue velvet. Equipment to excite any good house- keeper is being installed in the com- modious kitchen--cafeteria provision for breakfasts, the only meal at which residents will serve themselves; sev- eral frigidaire units, a bread mixer, great range and ovens, a dish washer, a potato peeler, and considerable other labor-saving furnishings. The completing of the clubhouse is being impatiently awaited by the large number of prospective residents, em- ployed women between the ages of 20 and 35.
