Lockridge defeated Walt Wylie, 2 and 1. Lasater and _Lock- ridge will play for the championship Sunday, 36 holes match play. Eighteen holes medal play, handicap, are scheduled for Saturday for the President's trophy. Sixteen will qualify. ; Class championships Saturday were won by Ro. M. Marquard, class B; George Bickerson, class C; H. Ives, class D. Second-Round Matches Saturday Second-round matches in the club championship will be played Saturday at North Shore. First-round results were : F. Snow defeated E. M. Schulte, 1 up in 19 holes; J. F. Stone and C. B. Scott won by default; R. C. Cruise defeated B. E. Driver, 5 and 4; BR. Green defeated H. H. Freer, 1 up; W. D. Bouron defeated D. F. Burns, 2 and 1: B. H. Huggins defeated C. A. Nash, 3 and 2: H. H. Harris drew a bye. In the semi-finals of the President's trophy Saturday L. D. Hess defeated A. M. Shultz, 3 and 2; and F. Snow defeated Richard Wolfe, 3 and 1. Hess and Snow play Saturday in the finals. Begin Club Title Play Qualifying rounds for the club championship at Sunset Ridge were played Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day. As an innovation, first round matches may be played any time with- in two weeks of qualifying. After the first round, however, contestants must play on date set. The final round of 36 holes is scheduled for Oc- tober 8. The President's trophy will be awarded to the club champion, and the directors' to the runner-up. The winner of the second flight will receive the vice-president's trophy; of the third flight, the treasurer's trophy; of the fourth, the secretary's. Public Is Invited Opportunity to see leading local pro- fessionals and amateurs in matches is being arranged by the Pickwick Sub- urban golf club of Glen View which is giving a series of such matches, free to the public. In the third, last Sun- day, Al Hacknarth of Park Ridge and Tom Kennett, Bryn Mawr profes- sional, were matched. North Shore Line Shows Train at Wisconsin Fair Hon. Fred R. Zimmerman, governor of the state of Wisconsin, was the guest of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee railroad at luncheon Wed- nesday, August 31, at the Wisconsin state fair which was held at Milwaukee last week. The following day, Thurs- day, September 1, Mayor Daniel W. Hoan and other city officials of the city of Milwaukee were the guests of officials of the North Shore line. One of the leading attractions at the fair was the exhibit of the North Shore line, which consisted of a three- car-all-steel train, which was stationed on a special siding just to the left of the main entrance. The train includes a passenger coach with the new in- dividual bucket-type seats just recently added to the North Shore line equip- ment, a dining car and an observation parlor car. These are types of the standard equipment being used daily between Chicago and Milwaukee. The luncheons for state and Milwaukee of- ficials were both held in the dining car of this exhibition train.
