A. Orvis, Winnetka Health officer. School nurses are now busy making a pre- liminary examination of the children registered in the various schools and will report on the conditions of eyes, ears, and the children's weights. Approximate exercises to procure correct posture in each child will be worked out, by the physical education teachers conferring regularly with the school nurses. It is anticipated that several weeks will be required to get the work completely organized and in full swing. Because a number of inquiries have been received by the Health depart- ment, Dr. Orvis issued a statement this week pointing out that the water supply of the village had been thor- oughly examined and that it was found to be entirely free from harm- ful bacteria or polution of any type. In regards to the erroneous report that there are several cases of infan- tile paralysis in the village, Dr. Orvis stated that there are no cases of the disease at the present time in the vil- lage. While in certain sections of the country the disease is present in epi- demic proportions, there seems to be no cause for alarm in this vicinity as there have been no cases reported in close contact with the north shore, Dr. Orvis states. Home nursing courses have to be again instituted in the local schools, Dr. Orvis announced. There are to be three courses given during the school year, each course to be of 12 weeks duration. They will be conducted at the Skokie school. Mr.-and Mrs. A. Milne Ramsey, 903 Cherry street, and their family, have sold their home. and .are moving to Pittsburgh, where R.
