Started on Big Year's Program Many troops have been "hitting on all sixes" right through the summer, adapting their meetings to the season and needs. Others have been having a. nice vacation and are now beginning to swing into action to begin another big year. Troop 36 of Highwood plans a rally banquet for Wednesday, Sep- tember 21. Enroll for "Training Stampede" Last year a training course was held on one evening of the week for eight weeks. A variation is planned for this fall of concentrating the sessions into a short period or "stampede." The last week in September and first week in October have been designed as "training" weeks and men interested in learning more about the "Nature and Needs of Boys" will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of these two weeks at the Glencoe Union church, Glencoe. The sessions begin at 7:30 | p. m., and are open to all men. There is no registration fee or other charge or obligation. The Executive board of the North Shore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America announced early this week the objectives for the various com- mittees for the coming year. The com- mittee chairmen are: Dr. George B. Lake of Highland Park, committee on advancement and Court of Honor; Karl D. King of Wil- mette, committee on effective troop or- ganization; R. Arthur Wood of High- land Park, committee in civic relation- ships and service; C. A. Steele of Glen- coe, committee on camping and out- door activities; Henry Fowler of Wil- mette, committee on finance and budget; W. A. Bimson, Lake Bluff, committee on leadership training and personnel; H. W. Shaw of Wilmette, committee on character through Sea Scouting; Rev. F.
