LEE Says: WE heard a story THE other day about A man in WINNETKA which HARDLY seems possible BUT we are assured THAT it is absolutely TRUE. This particular MAN was down to the PARK on WINNETKA DAY LOOKING around with HIS youngster and all HE was spending was HIS time. Finally his YOUNGSTER begged so hard TO take a ride on the MERRY -GO-Round that HE decided to treat HIM to a ride so he TOOK out his purse TO buy a ticket and WHEN he opened his PURSE out flew three BIG moths. WE would like to get IN touch with this MAN and tell him about ENOZ moth spray. ENOZ by the way is a - WONDERFUL moth killer AND had this particular GENTLEMAN used Enoz on HIS pocketbook the MOTHS would not have BEEN present on this OCCASION. THE COVER The art of photography is demon- strated in the picture of the group of new teachers at the Winnetka schools which appears on the cover of this is- sue. John Ridgely Marshall, photog- rapher, posing the teachers on the edge of the pool, thereby producing re- flections in the water, missed none of the high lights in turning out an artistic picture. Make Rapid Strides in Construction of New Library Section Excavation for the new addition to | the Winnetka public library was near- ing completion this week and work was being started upon the erection of the new section of the library building. The doors of the library were closed Thursday evening and will remain closed until about January 1, when it is anticipated that the building will be completed. In the meantime temporary quarters will be maintained at the Village hall where, although no books will be cir- culated during the construction period, the library staff, under the direction of Miss Mary Hewes, librarian, will go over the records, catalogue all new books received and get the various library facilities ready for the re-open- ing. More than 6,000 books have been withdrawn from the library since Sep- tember 1, the librarian having granted residents the privilege of withdrawing ten books each which are to be held out until January 1. A large percent- age of the 6,000 books were borrowed by the Winnetka public schools and the New Trier High school. Plans are now being formulated whereby the total of the number of books owned by the library, which at the present time is 18,000 volumes, will be doubled through a program of periodical purchases.
