FSH AR, fi dh ak September 24, 1927 WINNETKA TALK § Children's School Opensat N.K.E.C.; Boys in Majority The Children's school of the Na- tional Kindergarten and Elementary college opened Monday, Sept. 19, with an enrollment of 160 children from Evanston, Wilmette, Golf and Chicago. The attempt has been made in each class to equalize the number of boys and girls, but it is interesting to note that at present the boys outnumber the girls by twelve. The Children's school is unique in that, under the new plan, children may be enrolled either for the morning session or for the day session. The afternoon session for the Nursery school and Kindergarten includes the noon meal and nap, with careful at- tention to the development of desir- able habits of eating and sleeping. The afternoon session of the elemen- tary grades includes an opportunity for individual choices from the follow- ing activities: Nature excursions correlated with art--Miss Dorothy Weller, faculty, National Kindergarten and Elementary college.
