Three morning exercises a week for the first month of school are devoted to talks from individual children on the interesting travel work and play of the summer. Last Tuesday the first, second and third grades described their summer to the rest of the school. The next day two boys in the eighth grade gave a stereoptican talk depicting a trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National parks. The culminating event in this pro- gram is the "Vacation Fair," modeled on the plan of the old time county fair, which took place last Friday. It i; an annual event of the school, which this year was under the direction of the ninth grade boys. The girls' gymnasium was used as the fair grounds, its walls lined with booths displaying the results of the summer experiences of the children. Photograph collections, inventions, travel and art, boats, flowers, vegeta- bles, woodwork, dolls, campers handi- craft, etc. Each grade was in charge of one booth, the third displaying the photo- graphs and post card collections; the fifth, the inventions; the eighth boys, boats, etc. Sunday Sermon Topics at the Congregational Church The sermon topic at the morning service at the Winnetka Congrega- tional church, Sunday, at 11 o'clock, will be "The Meaning of Mr. Reynolds' Visit."
