On or about October 1, according to the announcement, there will be opened at 515 Davis street, Evanston-- just to the east of the North Shore Hotel building--a firm known as Ralph Baker, Inc. athletic outfitters, and under the active managership of Ralph "Moon" Baker, who during the past season piloted the Northwestern grid team through its conference schedule without a single defeat and to a tie with Michigan for the conference championship. The new firm, of which "Moon" is president, is incorporated under the laws of the state with a board of di- rectors comprised of prominent Chi- cago business men and Northwestern alumni. It is anticipated that the new establishment will be the first of sev- eral such stores to be opened in this and other localities. At the present time, workmen are busily engaged in installing the latest in store equipment and in outfitting the new establishment with a com- plete line of all of the better brands of athletic goods. By the opening date it is planned to have ready for in- spection any item required in any sport. As a feature attraction for basket- ball players or others requiring shoes of the basketball type, the store will carry a complete stock of the new "Moon" Baker basketball shoe which was designed by him and is now being manufactured by one of the outstand- ing shoe companies of Chicago. Subsequent to the announcement of the opening, "Moon's" many friends on the north shore and in Chicago have been congratulating him upon his new enterprise, which is the only one of its type north of Chicago and which for that reason, is expected to prove popular with north shore resi- | dents. Dinners and informal parties given in his honor as expressions of the best wishes for his success, have been in evidence throughout the week. It is the records of health officers, registrars, nurses and other workers in 82 cities, towns and vil- lages and in the rural territory under township supervision. The result of the survey, to be made known later, promises interesting and valuable information for health work- ers. The work in this district is car- ried on by sale of the Christmas seals.
