Al- though the Bradstreets and the Ryland Walcotts have visited many of the beauty spots of Italy, Switzerland, and England, not prescribed nor arranged for by the Legion, they nevertheless have only favorable comments to make with regard to the manner in which the Legion has functioned in simplify- ing traveling and modifying the ex- pense without detracting from the pleasure of all phases of the trip. The last word from the Bradstreets reports a highly satisfactory crossing from Paris to London by aeroplane and the intention of sailing for home Saturday, October 8, on the S. S. Lan- castria, the same boat that provided them with a delightful crossing the lat- ter part of August. North Shore Art League Sponsors Classes in Art Classes in art will open in four com- munities on the north shore on Satur- day, October 15, under the auspices of the North Shore Art league, it was announced this week. The classes will begin at 9 o'clock and will extend to 11:30 o'clock in the morning and will be limited to pupils from the seventh and eighth grades and the high school. It is planned to begin work with painting still life and to take up landscape painting in the spring. The classes are being offered by the Art league in order to encourage young people of an artistic tempera- ment and aptitude to develop talent. Those taking work in the classes are entered on the roll as junior members of the Art league. A small tuition fee will be charged. The classes will be under the super- vision of the following instructors: Mrs. A. J. Coburn at the Byron Stolp schoul in Wilmette; Mrs. Marguerite C. Taylor at the Joseph Sears school in Kenilworth; Mrs. F. W. Bond at the Community House in Winnetka and Mrs. J. C. Elwell at the Elm Place school in Highland Park.
