The events consisted of inspection, attend- ance, peanut relay, patrol drill, dress- ing relay, and a pie-eating contest. The Wilmette troops hold their rally on the third Saturday of each month. For their session in November they are looking forward to participating in the area wide council Court of Honor. Troops to Win Efficiency Shield Each month the troops of the North Shore area take an inventory of their progress and submit this inventory to the board of troop service deputies for rating in the inter-troop efficiency award. Local troops are working earn- estly to win it this month. It was awarded for September to Troop 35 of Glenview. Plans for the coming year provide for the employment of two men to give their entire time to troop service and the strenghtening of the scout work in each town in addition to an office assistant who will be available for serv- ice at the council headquarters at Highland Park. Plan Use of Cabin-in-the-Woods Troop 5 of the Wilmette Presbyteri- an church will camp there on October 21 and 22; a Scout leader's hike will be held on November 4; the Order oi the Arrow will hold their fall encamp ment on November 12 and 13. A week end Junior Officer's conference will he held on the week-end following Thanksgiving and a Winter camp dur- ing the Christmas holidays. Troops make reservation for the use of the Cabin-in-the-Woods by applying to the service station at Highland Park. Secure New Scout Leader The Executive board has announced the employment of W. Ted Grant, for- merly assistant field executive of the Chicago council, as assistant executive of the North Shore area. Mr. Grant succeeds Mr. B. C. Draper, who takes new duties at the national Boy Scout office on November 1 All Troops to Unite in Roosevelt Pilgrimage The Scout troops from Wilmette to Lake Bluff are looking forward to the Roosevelt Pilgrimage and tres planting dedication which will take place at the Cabin-in-the-Woods on Saturday morning, October 29. Scout will assemble at Park avenue. Glencoe, at 9:40 o'clock. Parents and friends are invited to attend the cere- monies.
