Mrs. Mabel Klein Dies Suddenly at Residence Here Mrs. Mabel Carleton Klein, wife of Arthur F. Klein, passed away sudden- ly at her home, 369 Hawthorne lane, last Friday night as she was dressing for dinner. She had been apparently in the best of health and had not com- plained of being ill previous to her collapse. Death was attributed to em- bolism. Final rites were conducted from the home last Monday afternoon with the Rev. James Austin Richards officiating. Mrs. Klein was born in Chicago and received her High school education at 'he old West Division High school, now the McKinley High school, lo- cated at 2040 West Adams street, Chi- ~ae0. It was here that she first be- came acquainted with Mr, Klein, whom she married in 1905. To this nnion in subsequent vears were born three daughters, Virginia, Janet and Babbett. The voung couple first took un their residence in Oak Park and there made their home for a neriod of eight vears. In about 1914, fo'lowing brief residences in Berkeley, Cal. and in Winnipeg, Canada, they removed to Winnetka and have made their home 'n this community for the past 13 years. Mrs. Klein enjoyed a vast acquain- tance in both Oak Park and on the north shore and was dearly beloved by all of her manv friends. She was a member of the Winnetka Conorega- tional church, the Winnetka Woman's club and the Winnetka Leacue of Women Voters. In each of these or- eanizations she was actively inter- ested and devoted much of her time to the promotion of their interests. She was also very much interested in her children's school work and ner- sonally supervised their education. Fach of them was enrolled in the Rovcemore school in Evanston and Mrs. Klein clearly demonstrated her rare personality and ability in her as- sistance in their school work. She is survived by her husband and three daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Percival Hunter of 510 Ash street returned last week from a fortnight's trip to White Sul- phur Springs, W.
