The dance is given under the au- spices of the Tri-Ship club, and in order to provide a novel and unique entertainment it will be called the "Forty-Niner's ball." The dance will be just like its name, with decorations of pre-civil war days, old fashioned costumes and even a bar where soft drinks will be served. Instead of con- ventional tables and chairs, there will be rustic tables and benches. In fact, the only modern touch will be the music: which will be furnished by the "Whip-Poor-Wills." The proceeds of this dance will go to a beneficiary of the club. St. John's Lutheran Wilmette and Park avenues, Wilmette Herman W. Meyer, M. If the heroine's little brother shout- ed "drag 'em out" during the "final clinches," the audience certainly did not. They thoroughly enjoyed the clinches and everything else in the picture, "Young Love," presented last Friday afternoon and evening in the New Trier High school auditorium. The first movie known to be taken and produced entirely by the students at New Trier has proved a great success and the actors and directors are to be congratulated. The theme of the picture was a high school romance and the stars were Jane Philbrick, who took the part of the sweet, shy, though somewhat old- fashioned, young girl; Steve Harwood, who acted very well the part of the handsome and popular high school lad, and Margaret Ott, who took the part of the very pretty, though snobbish, little villain. Stoddard Small, as Steve's companion, and his "girl" Katherine Bickham, provided the comedy situations with commendable skill. . Despite the difficulties of filming this movie, it did not give the im- pression of amateurishness and several bits of fine acting were shown by both Jane Philbrick and Steve Harwood. The picture was taken and produced by the Lens club of New Trier and the proceeds from the showings will go toward purchasing camera equip- ment for the club.
