October 29, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 41 MOSQUITO BATTLE LINE GRADUALLY EXTENDING Petitions With Necessary Signa- tures for Special Election Com- pleted; Hearing Nov. 10 A hearing on the petition for a spe- cial election to authorize a tax of the necessary funds for conducting the organized warfare on mosquitoes on the north shore, has been set for hear- ing November 10, at 10 o'clock. The North Shore Mosquito Abate- ment association, which has been en- gaged during the past several weeks in obtaining signatures to the necessary petitions for this election, completed their work last week and filed the petitions with County Judge Edmund K. Jarecki, Monday. he judge set the hearing for the foregoing date, and in the meantime, the association is proceeding with other preliminary steps to forward the work. Mosquito abatement districts have been formed and financed in this man- ner throughout Cook and adjoining counties, an organized and scientific warfare against the little pest which it is said, spells his ultimate doom here.
