Saturday Morning Classes That Children Love IRST, at 9:30, a short story. Next, a living model poses in costume, to represent a character in the story. A sketch is made while the children watch-- they are told exactly what to look for, how to proceed. Eagerly their little hands and eyes are then en- gaged until 12, drawing or painting from life. Mr. Scheffler, Director of the Academy, goes back and forth from board to board, personally instructing and encouraging each child. It is wonderful, the interest the children take and the rapidity with which they acquire real artistic skill under Mr. Scheffler's method. A 13 year old pupil, after comparatively few lessons, made in colors the clever sketch reproduced above. Whether or not you plan an art career for your children, you will bestow upon them a life-long ad- vantage by inculcating in them at an early age a true interest in, as well as an understanding and apprecia- tion of color harmony, beautiful form and the finer things in art. 1 Children of ten and older may be enrolled now. The fee is moderate. Your boy or girl will look for- ward to each Saturday forenoon, and will soon possess a most interesting portfolio of drawings he or she has made.
