Appoint Delegates to State Convention of Voters League Mrs. Montague Ferry and Mrs. Ralph Sherman Childs were appointed this week by Mrs. M. Vander Vries, president of the local chapter of the Teague of Woman Voters, as official delegates from Winnetka to the State convention which is to be held in Peo- ria on November 15, 16 and 17. Mrs. Ferry, who is the first president of the Winnetka League chairman of the organization commit- tee, will attend the sessions of the State convention dealing with the par- ticular part of local activities in which she is most interested. Mrs. Childs, who is the member of the Winnetka board in close contact with the Cook County Council and the Chicago League of Women Voters fo- rum, will report the program work of the convention. Mrs. Vander Vries will also attend the convention and will preside at the dinner for the lIncal presidents and state board members to be held the night preceeding the opening of the convention. Two special Parent-Teacher gaiherings at the school will comprise the outstanding fea- tures of the program, though one took place this week, when parents visited the classrooms, and the second follows on Thursday, November 17. The purposes of American Education week, observed generally throughout the country, are "to acquaint the public with the actual work of the schools, with their ideals, their achievements, and their needs." The aim is to have every parent visit his child's school at least once dur- ing this week.
