SA i i i November 12, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Pupils at Hubbard Woods School Have Book Week Contest A book contest for the children of the Hubbard Woods school will be held as a special observance of Book Week under the direction of Miss Marian Elwell, principal of the school. A prize of a book is being offered to the first boy or girl of the school who submits the correct answers to a list of questions which have been compiled. No answers will be accepted, however, before November 21. The contest is the first of its type ever to be held in Winnetka and is at- tracting considerable comment and approval. It is, in addition to the fun it furnishes for the children, an ex- cellent means of learning how much they retain from their reading and causes them to be very observative while reading for pleasure. In addition to the contest a special assembly program will be held in which the children will dress to rep- resent some character in a book and the remainder of the pupils will en- deavor to guess the title of the story. Under the rules of the contest, while the books may be read by or read to the children, the questions must be answered without the aid of any other person. The answers must be written out and in each case the name of the author and the title of the book must be given. The numbers of the answers must also correspond with the num- bers of the questions.
