November 12, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Is Christian Science Churches "Adam and Fallen Man" was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday, November 6. The Golden Text was from Psalms 116:8, "Thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling." Among the citations which com- prised the Lesson-Sermon was the fol- lowing from the Bible: "Be ye there- fore followers of God, as dear chil- dren; For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: . . . Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light" (Ephesians 5:1, 8, 14). The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "When speaking of God's children, not the children of men, Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within vou; that is, Truth and Love reign in the real man, showing that man in God's image is unfallen and eternal" {(p. 476). New Trier Girls Hear of Wild, Woolly West Friday morning from 8:30 until 9 the senior girls of New Trier High school were entertained with a talk on the West and The Cheyenne Rodeo given by Miss Emelyn Waltz who is a teacher at New Trier. Miss Waltz was head councilor this last summer at Camp Newaka which many New Trier girls attended. She first told of the Cheyenne Rodeo, of the brilliant horse- manship there displayed, of the cow- boys and girls, and of the general atmosphere of the wild and woolly west that pervades Cheyenne. She then passed pictures to illustrate her talk, passing some pictures of the camp. The girls enjoyed these particu- larly as they had a lot of fun recogniz- ing their friends. Miss Waltz closed her talk with some poems that typified the West. This assembly was said by the girls to be one of the best if not the best of the Friday morning assem- i"blies to date.
