But day after to- morrow, the weary Purple, crippled and wan, will appear at Dyche stadium in another contest, exact nature as yet undetermined, with the redoubtable Hawkeyes from out where the tall corn grows. The Hawkeyes, it might be noted, defeated Thistlethwaite's Wisconsin boys 16-0 on the Badger field last Saturday. This was the first victory for the Hawks in eleven conference starts. The dope may still say that North- western will win against Iowa but the dope has a bad habit of getting upset when the bucket sits near the Wildcat lair. The Purple will probably have its regular team on the field when the opening whistle blows but most of them are badly crippled and it is very doubtful if any but subs will still be playing at the final gun. Among the gridiron notables who will make their final appearance in Purple shirts in this contest are Capt. Vic Gustafson, Leland "Tiny" Lewis, Rudy Schuler, Waldo Fisher, Walter Rosie, Al Schuler, Dave Kempf and Luke Johnsos. FRIENDS OF DRAMA Friends of the Drama were invited to be guests at a musicale and recep- tion given Monday afternoon by the Musical guild in Chicago.
