WINNETKA TALK November 19, 1927 Hindu Servant Robbing a Safe When drawing the poster to advertise New Trier High school Dramatic club's play "Inside the Lines" that's the subject Edward Ryerson carried out with excellent effect, as the picture indicates. Triangle Club Gives New Electric Clock to Community House One of the new electric clocks which are being distributed by the Village has been installed in the Community House. It is a present from the Tri- angle club to the House. This clock has already given a great deal of satis- faction, making it possible for people to catch trains without consulting everybody else's watch, thus becoming a great time-saver. The Triangle club is having a very happy time enjoying the new furnish- ings which Mrs. Philip S. Post has put into the Philip S. Post room. A new rug, new chairs, arrangement of pictures, new lamps and table, and cur- tains have transformed the room and made it one of the loveliest rooms in the House. Mrs. Post supervised the arranging of the furniture in the room and has made it a joy to the members of the Club. One of the ways in which the club is showing its appreciation, is this gift of the clock to Community House. : The three cardinal points of the Triangle club are sports, good fellow- ship and relief or beneficial activities. The members demonstrated that they are good soorts, by their ready re- sponse to the fund for the new clock, a gift so highly appreciated by the re- cipient. Last Monday evening, another angle of sports was taken by the Triangle members. They issued a challenge to Winnetka post No. 10, American Le- gion, to meet them in either a contest at billiards or at bowling, or both, and either for an evening of games or for a series. The challenge has not been formally accepted by the Post, but it is under- stood that the most athletic members of the local Legion are already in training and that the fight for these honors in the village will soon be on. The Triangle club members last Thursday evening joined the Commun- ity House gymnasium, and they, too, are doing everything they can to keep in trim for the match games that are coming. Five new members were installed at the club meeting this week, the total membership now being 28. Victor Voltz is president; Joe Lucchesi, vice- president; William Wheelan, secre- tary; and George Conner, treasurer. Mrs. Thomas Simpson, Mrs. Harry Rouse, Mrs. Charles Steele, and Mrs. George Heidman of Glencoe were in- cluded in a group of women who took food, magazines, and other articles to the war veterans in the hospital at, Creat Lakes Naval station last Mon- day. | | Once A Spanish Rancho Now A Resort for You SPs DONS once swaggered down the broad portales of Hacienda de los Cerros, nestled in the mouth of Santa Fe canyon, 7,000 feet above the sea. Today it is a comfortable resort, and when you wake from sleep made sound by crisp mountain air, and hurry into your clothes before an open fire, there are fine saddle horses, motor cars, and pack trips to claim your time. New Mexico hunting is the finest yet left in America and Los Cerros is in the heart of the mountain district, though only two miles from the city of Santa Fe and easily accessible from Chicago.
