WINNETKA TALK November 26, 1927 Lee Says: -- I'VE been asked to PUBLISH my AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN this space. IT wouldn't be practical IF I didn't tell the TRUTH and it wouldn't BE interesting, and if I DID it would be too INTERESTING. Fo A Wy be > AY ha If you want our honest opinion, we'll have to say that LUICK'S Wisconsin Ice Cream is just a little bit better than any other brand of ice cream we have ever tasted. Wis- consin law demands 129] butter fat in ice cream while Illinois only demands 89. That's one of the reasons why we serve Luick's here exclusively. E2ANYD There have been more dispositions ruined by poor foun- tain pens than by installment collectors. If you want a really good pen that's always ready to go, we've got it. We guarantee 'em to do just what we say they will. EPANSD A hot water bottle in the home is just as essential as the kitchen range. We have a water bottle here that carries a two year guarantee. By that we simply mean that if it does not give satisfactory service bring it back and get a new one either now or two years from now. Isn't that fair enough? E2AND There's no entertainment in a cough. Either for the per- son who does the coughing or the people who have to listen to it. We've got a mighty effective cough syrup called "Lee's,"" that stops the irritation 'right off." Comes in fifty cent bottles. Various north side schools seat four of their hockey players to the tryouts which were held at Evanston last Saturday. In the same way a South side team was picked. These teams will play each other next Saturday at Dyche Stadium. From these two teams an All-Chicago team will be chosen, the members of which will receive emblems similar to those of the Women's All- Chicago team. It is quite an honor to make this team, and New Trier is wishing Grace the best of luck. Christian Fellowship Parish House, Oak street, Winnetka Rev. A. E. Offer Delicious Bargains at Camp Fire Food Bazaar (Contributed) Six groups of Camp Fire Girls with three groups of Blue Birds, younger Camp Fire girls, will offer to the house- wives of Winnetka most delicious home cooked foods and dainties Saturday morning, December 3, in Community House. Each group is to have a table decor- ated in most attractive fashion. This sale is an annual event put on by the Winnetka Camp Fire girls, not merely to raise needed money for their treas- ury, but to demonstrate their skill in All things offered to sell are prepared by the girls them- selves. Camp Fire stands for the home as well as out-of-doors, and seeks to stimulate through its honor system a love for doing things in the home. A committee from the Camp Fire coun- cil will judge the food before the sale is opened to the public and local hon- ors will be awarded to the groups for the prettiest table, the table with the most variety and to the group that is one hundred percent in contribution. This event has always met with dis- tinct success and has received the en- couragement and appreciation of the housewives in the village. It means much to the young girls who are put- ting their best efforts into the work and who are giving full value and moderate prices for all cooked foods. The Camp Fire girls will be on hand to welcome friends and visitors Saturday morning December third at 10:30 in Community House. There will be ready to serve many good things to eat for those who wish home cooked foods at every table. Members of the Camp Fire Council are assisting. Mrs. E. E. Stults is gen- eral chairman of the occasion. Only 8 Quarantined Homes in Village Now Says Orvis Among the many things for which the people of Winnetka had to be thankful for, as viewed by Dr. H. A. Orvis, health officer, was the preva- lence at this time of so few contagious diseases in the village. On Tuesday afternoon of this week he released from quarantine the only case of scarlet fever in the village. There are only two cases of mumps; five of chicken-pox and one of whoop- ing cough, he said. Does Your OIL BURNER Need Attention?
