Adams Pharmacy The Rexall Store Phone Winnetka 2 Elm and Linden Faculty to Give | "The Dover Road," A. A. Milne Farce By M. B. When the play, "The Dover Road," is presented by members of the New Trier High school faculty, a precedent will be established after some tea years. During this time all parts in plays produced at the school have been taken by students. On December 9 and 10, however, a group of teachers are to become the characters in A. A. Milnes clever three-act farce. Eloping couples leaving London for Paris or the south of France usually take the "Dover Road." Ona this high- way lives an eccentric bachelor, a certain Mr. Latimer whose money has made him able to carry out a plan he has devised--that of stopping and de- taining runaways in his home for a week. During this week he allows them to see each other, particularly in the mornings and at meals, as they actually are. In most cases, he has found, the culprits are more than will- ing to return home again. The plot of the story is concerned with this Mr. Latimer and two couples, Anne and Leonard, Nicholas and Eus- tasia, and with the situations following their meeting in his house, for FEus- tasia is Leonard's wife. She and Nicholas have already spent a week there when Anae and Leonard arrive, and both are considerably enlightened. With the help of Dominic, the infall- able butler, Mr. Latimer has seen to that. After a number of amusing scenes, Anne is also much wiser, and to the end of the play when Eustasia and Leonard are more or less reconcil- ed, and when Nicholas has decided that "as a man of honor" it would be better for him "to-er-withdraw," she, too, bids goodby to Mr. Latimer and his successful institution. Mr. Fred Kahler is playing Latimer, Miss Clarissa Bell is Anne, and Mr. Gordon Van Kirk is Leonard. The parts of the other couple are taken by Miss Agnes Biesemeier, who is Eus- tasia, and Mr. C. L. Persing, who is Nicholas. Dominic, the butler, is play- ed by Mr. R. B. Wehr. There will be two performances, the first of which will be for the faculty and guests, the second to be open to the public. Miss Betty James of New York has been spending the past week as the guest of Mrs. Marcus Richards of 1240 Tower road. Junior Girls Win Hockey Title in New Trier Tourney The Junior Girls' hockey team at New Trier High school defeated the Senior aggregation in the final game of the season this week, thereby annexing the school championship. The final score was 1 to 0. The Juniors' goal came after ten minutes of play. Grace Cook carried the ball down the field and made a long hit from the edge of the striking circle, which scored. : Often during the game the puck nearly went in one or the other goal, but always a good defense play placed it out of danger. TO GIVE BUFFET SUPPER Miss Jeanne Baumgartl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Baumgartl of 1180 Oakley avenue, Hubbard Woods, will entertain a number of her friends at her house on Friday evening, Decem- ber 9. The party will be a buffet sup- per, followed by dancing. Si John Struggles, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Struggles of 609 Cherry street, entertained several of his friends on the occasion of his fourteenth birthday.
