-----" i -. December 3, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Long and Short of It I ERE we have Winnetka's two brave "highwaymen," that is, they are the village's two Highway-men-motorcycle policemen. The taller one is Frank Rayburn; his partner is Charles M. Bemus. They operate more particularly on Sheridan road, but may be seen on their Indian runners, anywhere within the village confines, if there is an automobile speeder or other traffic violator in sight. Frank and "Sparky" proudly pointed to the recent ten-day record, during which not a single automobile accident was reported in Winnetka. "That was largely a result of our work," said "Sparky." "It was," Frank agreed. Frank, when in playful mood, features riding with one hand, and, even at times, without either hand on the handle-bars. He directs his speed car by his convincing way of talking to it. "Sparky" is equally noted as a stunt rider. He has even been known to ride on his head. But that was when he was doing a stunt with a playful collie dog which he chanced to meet on his Sheridan road beat. Miss Marjorie Meeker of 941 Oak Norman E.
