3 WINNETKA TALK December 10, 1927 1927 Invitations Out for Xmas Affairs for Young People Holiday Calendar for Young People Lists Five Dances By JEAN TEN BROECK Expressed in radio phraseology, older members of north shore society "stand by" during the holidays to allow the younger members of their families to hold the center of the social stage. While the boys and girls and young men and women in their far distant schools and colleges mark off each day until the advent of the long anticipated Christmas vacation, their relatives and friends at home are setting the days of holiday fétes to be included in the pleasures of their homecoming. Each recurring holiday season only emphasizes the yearly increasing popu- larity of the vogue in our villages of the large dance, (preceded by numer- ous dinners), which includes many names on its host or hostess list as well as young people from all along the north shore as its guests.
