Mr. Meltzer, himself an artist pu- pil of Alfredo Quartullo, graduate of the Conservatory of Naples, and David Berend, formerly of the Vin- cent Lopez orchestra, will combine his training on the fretted instru- ments with his complete knowledge of musical theory gained during his four year course at North- western University which award- ed him the degree of Bachelor of Music to give two interesting courses in this subject. Course I--Elementary Harmony. Scales, intervals, chord construec- tion. Course II--Advaneed Harmony. And analysis of many folk-songs and popular compositions. HOME FOR HOLIDAYS Frank and Larned Blatchford, the sons of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Blatch- ford of 32 Indian Hill road, are ex- pected home December 23 from Harv- ard, where Frank is a sophomore and Larned, a freshman. Dr. and Mrs. Blatchford's daughter, Mrs. Ludlow S. Fowler of New York will arrive that same day with her husband to spend Christmas with her parents. Mr. Fowler will stay only over the week-end, but Mrs. Fowler will be here for two weeks, Mrs. Blatchford returned last week from the East, where she spent Thanksgiving with her sons and was in New York with Mrs. Fowler for two weeks.
