SWIMMERS WIN Senior and Junior Squads = Hand Double Defeat to Proviso Entries in New Trier Tank Encounter New Trier High school swimmers twice defeated Proviso High school lads at the New Trier tank, Monday. The seniors triumphed by the score of 39 to 20, while the juniors took the long end of a 32 to 18 score. Robert Joy of New Trier was the high point man of the senior meet with two first places to his credit. Roos of the New Trier junior team had an equal number of points. Captain Bennett of New Trier lead off by taking first place in the 40-yard swim. Rogers and Rich increased the New Trier lead by taking first and second places, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke. The 60-yard backstroke event went to Fliege of the invaders who made the three lengths with the time of 43 seconds. Joy took the first of his first place honors in the following senior event, the 220- vard swim, and also came in first in the 100-yard dash event. D. Granstrom won the diving for the home school in a masterly exhibition of the art. The relay, however, went to Proviso on a tehnical error, since Bennett, the last man to swim for New Trier started a fraction of a second before Joy, who swam just before him, reached the end of the tank. New Trier ran away with the junior meet. Roos and Larner took first and second honors in the 40-yard swim, and first and third honors in the 100-yard free style event. N. Gran- strom took the 40-yard backstroke for New Trier. The breaststroke event went to Campbell of Proviso who made the excellent time of 29 2-5 seconds. Both the first and second places in the fancy diving contest were taken by Proviso men, Shockey and Ruitt. The junior relay was won by New Trier. Summaries : Senior 40-yard swim--1. Bennett (N.
