The Golden Text was from Jude 1:21, "Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." Among the citations which com- prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: "When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory . . . Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him" (Col. 3:4, 9, 10). The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passages from the Chris- tian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life and recognizing no mortal nor material power as able to destroy. Let us rejoice that we are subject to the divine 'powers that be.' Such is the true Science of being" (p. 249). ADDRESSES RADIO CLUB William S. Hedges of Wilmette, radio editor of the Chicago Daily News, addressed one thousand members of the Illinois Bell Telephone Radio club in Chicago Wednesday evening, Jan. 18, on the value of radio in newspaper work. The Church of the Immaculate Con- ception, established by Father Mar- quette near Utica, was the first church in Illinois. Clear up bloodshot eyes quickly and safely When eyes become blood shot from wind, dust, over-use, crying or lack of sleep, apply a few drops of harmless Murine. Soon they will be clear again and will feel refreshed and vigorous. Many persons use Murine each night and morning to keep their eyes always clear and bright. A month's supply of this long- trusted lotion costs but 6oc. RING EYES Illini Arrange Big Relay Meet Early in March To run off the largest indoor relay meet in the United States in the limited space of two hours at first blush seems impossible, yet that is the promise as the University of Illinois makes plans for its eleventh indoor relays March The main meet, including the uni- versity relays and ten special events, will be put on at night, from 7:30 to 9:30 o'clock. The managers know all this entertainment can be compressed into two hours because it has been done for two years. Increased popularity because the famous meet has been run off snappily has been the reward. For dyed in the wool fans, there is also the afternoon program when the college and high school races, all-around championship and preliminaries in special events are contested. Many benefits will be realized from the new date, March 17, which is later than before. The change was made at the request of many coaches who do not desire to select their relay teams until they have completed their indoor schedules. The events will be as fol- lows : University relays--One-mile, two- mile, four-mile, medley. College relays--One-mile, two-mile, medley. High school relay--One-mile. Special events--75-yard dash and high and low hurdles; 300-yard, 1000- yard and 1500-meter runs; high and broad jump; shot put and pole vault. All-around championship--75-y ard dash and high hurdles; high and broad jumps ; 880-yard run; shot put and pole vault. As usual the classic will be run off in Illinois' big armory with its fast 75- vard clay straight-away 'and six and three-quarters laps to the mile cinder track. Chick Werner, former Illini track captain and hurdler, is manager and Ralph C. Murphy, Student man- ager. Last year sixty-five Institations en- tered 750 athletes, although the desire, since Harry Gill founded the big meet in 1917, has been to attract class rather than quantity. Five national indoor records have been established or equaled in past years. SPECIALIZE IN PARTIES The Four Seasons dining and dance place located on Waukegan road north of Glenview is under the capable man- agement of Bill Fisher, well known in Chicago and suburban entertainment circles. Dance parties and banquets are specialties at the Four Seasons, ac- cording to Mr. Fisher. The Play Reading Study class will meet as usual on Tuesday evening, January 24, in the Scout room of Community House. he "5 | HRE EDAL | WAREHOUSES FIREPROOF EVANSTON-HICHLAND PK. - WINNETKA wv RENTAL OF CHAIRS ¥ TABLES Moth Extermination Moving, Packing and Ship- ping of Household Goods Phone Winn. 1332
