January 28, 1928 WINNETKA TALK wr World Religions Form Subject of Willett Lectures Dr. Herbert Willett gave the third of his serial lectures on the "Found- ers of the Great Religions of the World," last Wednesday at the Kenil- worth Union church, taking up the "Life of Confucius, the Sage of China." There was a large audience to hear this lecture which gave evi- dence of the unusual interest Dr. Wil- lett is arousing in his discussions. Dr. Willett gave an account of the life of Confucius and told of his great gifts to China in the form of educa- tion and ideals for their code of con- duct, emphasizing that, while he lived unappreciated, and was lonely at his death, his words have lived and every Chinaman is a follower of Confucius no matter what other religion he may or may not embrace, This week Dr. Willett took up the study of "Gautama, the Buddha." Next week he will speak on "Socrates, the Teacher of Athens." The lectures are at 8 o'clock Wednesday evenings at the Kenilworth Union church. Triangle Club Honors Mrs. Philip S. Post A dinner in honor of Mrs. Philip Sidney Post will be given by the Tri- angle club of young men, at Com- munity house, Wednesday evening, February 8, at 7 o'clock. The board of governors of Community house will be special guests, as well as others who have been specially interested in this club. Ever since the new addition to Com- munity house was built, the Triangle club has met each week in the room named in memory of Philip Sidney Post, who was one of Winnetka's most beloved and progressive citizens. Mrs. Post has recently furnished the room for the boys in a most attractive and complete manner, making it a de- lightful place in which to hold meet- ings. This interest of Mrs. Post in the room and their club has meant much to these young men, and they are giving this dinner as a little token of their appreciation. AT CONVENTION John P.
