Professor Barnes, who will take the affirmative, is widely known for his books, "Genesis of the World War," and "Social History of the Western World." Professor Smith has also published two notable. books, "The Democratic Way of Life," and "The American Philosophy of Equality." Final shipments of 10 lightweight double-track safety cars have been made by the St. Louis Car company. Five of these cars, em- bracing all the latest safety devices, are now in service on the Milwaukee City lines and three more will soon be added to this service. Two cars will be used on the Waukegan City lines. Two-trolley storage-battery freight locomotives have been delivered by the General Electric company and the American Locomotive company, and are now being used in general freight service. The storage-battery equip- ment on these locomotives enables them to handle freight on tracks not equipped with overhead power facili- ties. Final deliveries also have been made on 15 new steel semi-trailers which are used in door-to-door over- night freight shipments between Chi- cago and Milwaukee. Other equip- ment recently received for this service included three five-ton tractors for hauling the containers to and from receiving stations. Construction work on 15 additional steel passenger motor-cars, two din- ing cars and one parlor-observation car has been started by the Pullman Car and Manufacturing company. These cars are scheduled to be placed in service on the main line next May and June. Scouts to be Guests of Rotary Club Wednesday On Wednesday February 8, the Wil- mette Rotary club will entertain scouts from Wilmette and Kenilworth as their guests.
