March 3, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 23 Prepare to Ballot on "T.N.T." Pupils at New Trier Soon With the approach of spring comes the time for the T. N. T. elections. T. N. T. is the highest honor any New Trier student can possibly obtain, be- cause the club represents the very best all around rating in the school. Mem- bers of this club are chosen from those who have done the most for the school, |- in athletics, club work, the holding of class offices, etc. The advisers, adviser-chairmen, and deans are beginning to go through the folders of the students, choosing those who have done the most for New Trier. This number is reviewed carefully un- til about twice the number of students to be elected to membership are chosen for the final elections. Out of this group the students are nominated, and they are voted upon by the members of T. N. T. (The New Trier). Until this year eight junior boys, eight junior girls, four senior boys. and four senior girls were elected to membership each year, but this year there will be elected only six junior boys and six junior girls, while next year there will be six boys and girls each from both the junior and senior classes. This will not alter the total number of members from each class, since still, as heretofore, twelve boys and twelve girls will be elected to T. N. T. from each class, but it was thought that by the division of the numbers evenly between the junior and senior years, there would be opportu- nity to determine the merits of the individual. NEW KAPPA KAPPA GAMMAS The Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority of Northwestern university held its formal initiation Saturday evening of last week. A banquet followed at the North Shore hotel. Immediately after the dinner a party was given for the new initiates at the sorority house, where a midnight supper was served. Those initiated were Margaret Carter, Gail Crawford, Margaret Decker, Edythe Dixon, Harriet French, Grace Glennon, Adrienne Grant, Frances Guylee, Mattiebelle Hubbart, Rachael Laramy, Catharine Lannon, Ada Lar- son, Elizabeth McCullough, Virginia Schaeffer, Margaret Sprankle and Vesta Swenson. GIRLS ENTERTAIN BOYS A group of New Trier girls enter- tained their partners for the Leap Year party, at a progressive dinner party held before the dance at New Trier February 22. The first course was served at the home of Miss Fran- ces McConnell. From there the crowd went to Kenilworth to Miss Inez Webster's for the main course. The salad was served in Winnetka at the home of Miss Margaret Stultz. Miss Mable Anderson had the dessert and Miss Jane Babock the demi-tasse. SERVE TEA AT MEETING Mrs. Frank Daegling of Beechwood avenue, Wilmette, and Mrs. George Ortseifen of 337 Essex road. Kenil- worth, served tea at the meeting Feb- ruary 15, at the Foundation for St. Francis hospital. Miss Laura Steck of Evanston played several piano selec- tions. The members of the foundation discussed plans for the festival to be held next June for the hospital. BEGIN CAGE TOURNEY The tournament games of girls' basketball at New Trier will begin Monday, March 5. Four teams have now been chosen in the three upper classes. The freshmen girls will con- tinue with their own schedule, not entering the tournament. Mr. and Mrs. John S.
