Ra yA March 3, 1928 WINNETKA TALK Hollister Building at Half Way Mark Machine 'Keeps Books' Fast and Accurately in Hollister Office FFICIENT operation of a News- paper-Magazine plant applies to all departments and that means the business office of Lloyd Hollister Inc, is "up to the minute" in modern equip- ment which enables rapid and accur- ate bookkeeping. A Remington book- keeping machine today accomplishes what the mind of a young man sitting on a stool used to do and modern in- vention has improved on mankind to such a wonderful extent that the machine cannot err. That's why there's a Remington in our business office. The operation of this machine which is so important in the Hollister plant, is not difficult. Anyone who is capable of operating a typewriter may work the bookkeeping machine, for it is really a typewriter, keyboard and all, but--and here is the important feature --it has on the front carrier the all important instruments known as an adding register, a subtracting regis- ter and a totalizer. With this machine everything involved in bookkeeping is done in one operation. Even correc- tions are made mechanically without mental calculation or the use of com- plementary figures. Each balance is proved automatically, for the machine locks "if the balance is incorrectly entered. As for speed of operation, there is no limit. The faster the fingers strike the keys the faster the bookkeeping. But the big feature is accuracy and Lloyd Hollister Inc., isn't troubled with complaints of incorrect billing. New Plant Forces Office Supplies to Be Increased SINCE the inception of the company, Lloyd Hollister, Inc., has purchased all office supplies and equipment through Chandlers Inc, of Evanston and this tradition was adhered to in purchasing the new additional equip- ment needed to outfit the offices of the new building. Because of the satisfaction given in years of service, the purchasing policy of the company has been to practically standardize on Central desks, Johnson chairs, Globe Wernicke steel files and for the most part Underwood type- writers, all of which are carried in regular stock by Chandlers. One Reason Why the New Publishing Plant of LLOYD HOLLISTER Inc. Is So Thoroughly Modern: IT HAS FOLDING MACHINE EQUIPMENT FURNISHED BY C. F.
