Cog he March 24, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 47 Southern Club Juniors Elect First Officers The Junior society of the Southern Woman's club of Chicago was formed Saturday afternoon, March 17, at the Illinois Women's Athletic club. The fifteen charter members, all of Southern birth and lineage, were.guests of Mrs. Edgar Foster Alden of Winnetka, president of the mother club, at an unique St. Patrick's day luncheon. Dixie Trembly of Chicago was elect- ed president; Elizabeth Shepler of Eyv- anston, treasurer; Dorothy Mathai, Chicago, secretary; Peggy Echols, Ev- anston, vice-president; Ramona Vin- son, Chicago, membership chairman; Helen Blundon, Chicago, social chair- man; Ruth Moore, Chicago, philan- thropy chairman; Jayne Johnson of Glencoe, publicity chairman, The Illinois Women's Athletic club is to be the future headquarters of the southern girls and they plan to meet there the first Saturday of each month. They are concentrating their efforts on philanthropy and on patriotic work. CIRCLE PLANS LUNCHEON "Friday the thirteenth," holds no fears for the Aspenwall circle of the Glencoe North Shore Methodist church. The circle will have a pro- gressive luncheon at 12:30 on April 13. Reservations must be made by April 10, with Mrs. Harold Case, at Glencoe 899. Everyone is welcome to attend the luncheon, which will terminate with an entertainment at Mrs. Case's home, 665 Greenleaf avenue. Doctor Edith Swift stopped over on her way to New York for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Austin Richards, 765 Lincoln avenue. (re Mr. and Mrs. Miles T. Babb, 614 Willow road, had as their guest last week-end, Mrs. Babb's brother, H. D. Allen of Kansas City, Mo. First Annual Exhibition of the Evanston-North Shore Association of Architects Open daily until Wednesday, March 28: morning, afternoon and evening at The Homestead Hotel, 1625 Hinman Avenue, Evanston. A display of drawings and photographs of homes and buildings designed by members of the Association, together with sketches of the proposed new buildings for the Evanston Campus of Northwestern University. 9:30 A.
