The above photograph, snapped early this week after operations had been in progress a short time, offers a striking view of the start of actual con- struction work on what is to be one of the best municipal water plants in the Chicago area. The difficulties to be encountered are brought out clearly. The building in the foreground is the old plant, around which the new structure must be erected so as not to interfere with the service now being rendered. Following the construction of the new building, sufficient machinery must be set up to handle the supplying of water to the Village, before the old structure and equipment can be demolished.
