The survey also showed that more homes in these communities have automobiles than washing machines or vacuum cleaners. Automobiles are owned by 55 of every 100 families reporting, electric wash- ing machines by 32 per 100, and elec- tric vacuum cleaners by 35 per 100. The figures also showed that only six more homes per 100 have electric irons than automobiles.
