R. to Close Season Monday The Skokie Valley chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolu- tion will hold its next meeting at the residence of Mrs. David DeCamp, 615 Abbottsford road, Kenilworth, next Monday afternoon at £2.30 o'clock. This meeting will welcome the return of the chapter's regent, Mrs. Fannie Cope, who has been in Florida almost all winter. Mrs. Cope has been in attendance at the National congress of the Daughters of the American Revo- lution which has been in progress. at Washington, D. C..this entire week, and will bring a report of that meeting to the members of the chapter at the | next meeting. It is hoped that there will be a large attendance to greet Mrs. Cope's return. The chapter has held its regular monthly meetings but has-constantly felt the absence of Mrs: '| Cope and has missed "her enthusiasm and interest. The meeting in May will mark the chapter's. closing for the: present season and at that time officers for the coming year will be elected. Mrs. A. J. Maloney and daughter, Mary Louise; were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Joyce of Kenilworth for a few days last week. The Maloneys are now residing in Merion, Pa. They sold their home here to the Mark Cresaps when Mr. Maloney's appointment to the presi- dency of the Philadelphia and Reading Coal company made necessary their move east. _ Mrs. James C."Murray, 423 Cumnor road, Kenilworth presented before the Cercle Francais of Chicago at the Woman's City club, Alfred de Lus- sep's play, "Bane Highland Park Men Hurt When Steering Gear Jams Nicholas Cimbalo and Charles Franz of Highland Park were injured last Sunday when the steering gear on the machine in which they were rid- ing jammed as they were attempting to turn from Sheridan road into Michi- gan avenue, Wilmette, causing the car to crash into a tree. Cimbalo, who was the driver of the car, was badly cut about the head and face while Franz received a bad gash across the nose. The two were taken to the Evanston hospital for medical treatment by Sergeant H. G. Vance of the Wilmette police department. DISRAELI LECTURE SUBJECT Rabbi Solomon B. Edward J. Scheidenhelm Elected Phi Beta Kappa Edward J. Scheidenhelm, 704 Lake avenue, Wilmette, is one of fifty-five seniors elected to membership in the Cornell university chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at the annual election held re- cently. In addition to the under- graduates elected, two members of the faculty and one graduate student were chosen. Prof. Thomas Frederick Tout, of the University of Manchester, the Messenger Lecturer at Cornell for 1928, was elected to honorary mem- bership in the chapter. Wilmer Cor- nell Dechert of Harrisonburg, Va., a great-grandson of Ezra Cornell, the founder of the university, is one of the seniors who was elected to member- ship.
