There were very attractive exhibits of handicraft and knot charts by the dif- ferent Camp Fire groups, in fact, so attractive it was difficult for the judges to award the prizes. The prize for the best variety was given to Mrs. Winscott's group, for the best knot chart to Miss Dorothy Prouty of Mrs. Eisenbrand's group, and for the best variety of knot charts to Miss Mildred Olson's group. Men- tion was made of Mrs. Philip Fisher's group, which had a fine display of children's clothes and which won the National birthday prize from Camp Fire headquarters. The judges were Harry Clarke, chairman; E. E. Stults, Mrs. E. M. Maddox and Mrs. C. J. Heyda. Dr. J. W. F. Davies, as chairman of Camp Fire council, gave a word of greeting, and Ruth Jackson gave a talk on the meaning and ideals of Camp Fire. The girls then sang their "Walking Song," led by Mrs. John Marshall, which was followed by a knot-tying contest participated in by a few girls from each group and in charge of three Boy Scouts with John Ballenger in charge, assisted by Brewster Adams and Henry Stanton. The girls taking part were: Louise Wagner, Ruth Jack- son, Flossie Nelson, Helen Stults, Eleanor Anderson, Beverly Rosenthal, Kathleen Johnston, Virginia Lang, Vir- ginia Kloepfer, Betty Harding, Louise Varney, Gertrude Galloway, Dorothy Sawyer. Virginia Kloepfer won first place, Ruth Jackson second place, and Betty Harding third place. Then came the frolic of the evening, games and stunts, led by Harry Clarke and en- joyed by both parents and the girls. Refreshnients were served by the so- cial committee, Mrs. Stults, chairman, and a social hour followed. Parents' Night with Camp Fire Girls gave the parents a real insight as to the true meaning of Camp Fire --"to glorify work--health--and love." --M. S. H. Mrs. Wiley J. Huddle, 794 Rose~ wood avenue, retiring president of the Woman's Society of the Congrega- tional church, gave a farewell address and welcomed the new officers at a meeting of the society on Monday, May 2.
