It also is the date for the annual Scoutmasters' outdoor session in their monthly roundtable program. Scoutmasters and assistant Scoutmas- ters from all of the North Shore troops will meet at the Cabin-in-the-woods at 6:30 o'clock to enjoy a dinner and an evening's fellowship together. The event is being staged at the expense of the council as a tribute to the fine work of the local Scoutmasters. Hold Outdoor Session The outdoors has long played an important part in the program of Scouts. An announcement was made last week that Scoutmasters will hold their roundtable outdoors. Now comes the word that the Executive board of the council, that group of dignified men who determine the plans and policies of the council progress, will hold their May meeting at the Cabin- in-the-woods Thursday evening, May 10. Karl D. King, president, will preside. Scout Program at Gross Point School Friday evening, May 11, has been set as the date for a Scouting program for the benefit of the children and their parents of district schools 37 and 40 to be held at the Gross Point school on Wilmette avenue, just west of Ridge road. Walter McPeek, Boy Scout executive of the North Shore Area council, will speak. Local Scouts All Ready Filing Application for Summer Camp Scouts who file their application for Camp Checaugau before May 15, save themselves $1.00 in the cost of the camp. Naturally Scouts and Scout leaders are getting as many applica- tions in the area office as early as they possibly can. The cost of a two weeks period at camp, transportation includ- ed, is about $18. Older Scout Camp New camp for experienced campers. At last old campers! Your dream is about to be realized. A new camp for experienced campers is being estab- lished on Hiawatha Beach, Big Blue Lake. Only those Scouts who are first class or higher, over 15 years of age, and who have been in an organized camp for at least a period of two weeks are eligible to attend this novel camp. Scouts in this camp will be divided into the following units: Waterfront, Indian Lore, Foresters, and Pioneer. Each unit will live in a distinctive type of camp. The Pioneers will live in Adirondack shacks; the Foresters in tree houses; the Indians in tepees, and the Waterfront men in Beach tents. Manv new and interest- ing phases of activity are being ar- ranged such as overland hikes, canoe trips, gypsy trips, boating regattas, etc. Special ecuipment is being pur- chased for use in each of these units.
