"Tenderloin" is a melodramatic crook 'drama affording Dolores one of the best emotional roles she has ever had. Further than this, it is known that Miss Costello had much to do in selecting the story of the picture, which was written by Melville Cros- man. The screen adaptation was made by E. T. Lowe, Jr., and as an indi- cation of what Warner Bros. thought of the work, they assigned the film- ing of it to Michael Curtis, recognized as one of the most artistic directors in the motion picture field. In this new deluxe offering Miss Costello has an acting role which en- ables her to play upon the sympathies of her audiences. An innocent girl in- veigled into a gang of master crooks through her infatuation for a seeming- ly honest youth, a member of the gang, she is dragged down and there is nothing to save her from utter de- gradation except that soundness of character that came to her at birth.
