Among her numbers will be the beautiful aria from "Samson and Delilah," "My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice." With two recent appear- ances in Chicago the critics have writ- ten of her that she "is one of the greatest contraltos of modern times." She will appear in Evanston on the program with Richard Crooks, and will include a Hindu love song in her program. She is known to thousands through her interpretation of "Car- men" and "Delilah" and has won new fame in the last year through her staunch and fearless advocacy of mod- ern American music. Mlle. D'Alvarez is a Peruvian, born in Liverpool, and educated in Belgium. She became an American by adoption. As the daughter of the Peruvian min- ister to England she enjoyed the bene- fits of an aristocratic ancestry and an early artistic environment, together with the educational and cultural op- portunities of the European courts. On her mother's side she has the tradition- al nobility of the Incas in her blood. Her grandmother was the last Inca princess of Peru, and the first Peru- vian battleship was paid for with her grandmother's pearls. LLL TLL 7777 777 2777777777777.
