The girls who are out for baseball have been assigned to teams and games are being played be- tween these teams almost every eve- ning after school. In spite of the exceedingly large number of girls out for this ever popular sport, this system is working very well. Track, too, is drawing its share of attention, and girls can be seen running around the cinder-track, jumping, throwing, or in any of the various phases of track almost every night, and not just the Tuesday and Thursday alloted to such practice. In the very near future looms the Freshman-Sophomore Play Day, furth- er details of which will be announced later, and just last week was . the Junior-Senior Play Day held at North- western university in which New Trier participated, along with Evanston, Roycemore, Deerfield, and Senn. Many of the New Trier girls placed in their various events, among whom were Ray Kriete with a first in the hurdles and second in the broad jump and hop- step-and-jump, Helen Gerlach with second in diving, Doris Fraser third in diving, and Josephine Otter with a place in breaststroke. So New Trier really did quite well, especially as they did not have the full number of girls entered that were allowed. Lunch at Willard Hall, and the awarding of in- dividual honors, and baseball games in which the girls participated as indi- viduals, and were on teams with girls from many of the other schools were also. part of the day's program. This is the first of what it is hoped and expected will be many such days. There is still swimming after school and the banquet of the Girls' Athletic association comes around the first of June. So there really is quite a bit to keep the girls busy, and on the go every minute. Dr. and Mrs. George F. Suker of Starr road returned recently from a trip of about two months' duration to Europe.
