16 WINNETKASTALK May 19, 1928 Widen Winnetka Avenue at Curve East of N. T. The widening of Winnetka avenue at the curve located just to the west of Sheridan road and east of New Trier High school was completed this week and the improved section will be opened for use in the near future. The widening of the street was au- thorized by the Winnetka Village council recently and consisted of cut- ting back the curb on the north side of the curve, permitting a clearer vision of the street on both sides of the curb and allowing more room for vehicles to pass. The members of the Vista del Lago club troup entertained their mothers last Saturday at a Sweethearts' party. The boys of the troop furnished their own entertainment. The school, which is under the di- rection of Marietta Johnson, assisted by Charles Rabold, Antoinette Hollis- ter, and a staff of nationally known educators, has been attended by many north shore parents, teachers, social workers and children. In many in- stances an entire family has attended. For parents and teachers Mrs. John- son will have daily lectures and con- ferences on Child Study and Educa- ture study, and the fine arts and vari- ous forms of craft work. Those in attendance live at the school, which, being just on the out- skirts of both Boston and Cambridge, gives the location many added advan- tages.
