Anderson, Painter Contractor Ground was broken this week for another new apartment buildmg in Hubbard Woods which Oscar A. An- derson, the painter contractor, 937 Spruce street, Winnetka, is erecting on Linden avenue. It is located on the first fifty foot lot on the west side of Linden, south of Scott avenue, adjoining the corner lot of the Pennsylvania Oil Co. ~-- The new building will be three stories, comprising two store rooms on the first floor and six five-room apart- ments, three on each of the upper floors. Plans are for October first occupancy. This is the first building to be erect- ed in "C" commercial area in Win- netka, since the amendment, some time ago, of the village ordinance limiting buildings of this nature to the accom- modation of 36 families per acre in- stead of the former ratio of 72. Mr. Anderson announces that in ad- dition to plans providing for five large rooms in each apartment, there will also be a roll-away bed. Electric refrigeration and many other details of modern convenience is being incorporated, and at a rental, Mr. Anderson says, that will be somewhat of a revelation on the north shore. The first story will be of brick and the second and third of stucco and timber, with stone trim throughout, with special treatment in design of 'both the front and north exposures in accordance with the village plan.
