Roberts, 1009 Vine avenue, Hubbard Woods, died at the Evanston hospital at 9 o'clock last Friday night, as a result of fireworks burns. Margaret was looking on about 2 o'clock on the afternoon of the same day while two sisters and two brothers set off Fourth of July sparklers on the lawn of their home. Her dress caught fire. Neighbors tried to save the baby by wrapping her in a tarpaulin. The child's father is manager of the Hubbard Woods branch of the North Shore Ice company. Funeral services were held from the family residence and the Sacred Heart church, Hubbard Woods, Mon- day morning, July 9, at 9:30 o'clock. Instead of the customary Requiem Mass, the Mass of the Angels was sung by a group of children. Burial was made in the family lot at Calvary. That same evening is scheduled for the dedication of the Chicago Central Aerial Beacon on top of the Roanoke Tower, LaSalle and Madison streets. This is the largest aerial beacon in the world and will be visible to flyers for a radius of 100 miles. It is located 520 feet above the sidewalk. The dedi- cation will be held from the north steps of the Field Museum in Grant park and all Chicago has been invited to witness the ceremonies. Two bands, the Naval Band from the United States Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois, and Schiff's Aerial Beacon Band will play martial airs for the oc- casion. Planes from the National Air Transport Co., and The Grey Goose Air Lines will circle the beacons. The exercises will start at 8 P. M. and the beacon light will be turned on at 9 P.M. by William P. McCracken, Jr., of Winnetka, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Aeronautics. City, state and federal officials will be the guests of honor. Mrs. L. J. Schwabacher of 815 Ash street, and her daughter, Leslie, re- turned this week from a stay of several weeks at Cedar Lake, Wis.
