August 11, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 11 KENILWORTH CLUB IN ANNUAL BEACH EVENT "Miss Kenilworth" to Be Signal- ly Honored in Contests Sun- day; Seek Bathing Queen The annual water carnival, swimming meet and sponsored by the Kenilworth club, will be held Sunday afternoon, August 12, at 3 o'clock at the Kenilworth beach. In case of rough or cold weather, the carnival will be postponed one week. A unique feature of the event will be a bathing beauty contest, which will be limited to girls of ten years and younger. An artist, a sculptor, and an author, the names of which have not been announced, will judge the beauty contest, and the lucky winner will hereafter be known as "Miss Kenilworth." She will be given a large doll as a prize. Honor "Miss Kenilworth" Four other little ladies--the runner- up in the beauty contest and the three ranking next to her--will be maids of honor for "Miss Kenilworth." They will also receive prizes to be donated by the Village garage, Kenilworth store, Kenilworth pharmacy, and an anonymous party. The entries in the swimming meet will be divided into several different classes, according to age, so that every boy and girl will have as fair a chance as possible. A grand prize will be given for the highest point winners in each class. Ribbons will also be given for each event.
