August 18, 1928 WINNETKA TALK Child Taken by Death in T. E. O'Neill Home Jaby Ann O'Neill, two years and three months old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. O'Neill, of 102 Church road, Winnetka, died last Sunday morning. The funeral services were held at 10 o'clock on Tuesday morn- ing from the Sacred Heart church in Winnetka. Burial was at All Saints cemetery. Mrs. Hermon Butler, 715 Prospect avenue, will be among the leaders conducting the course in personal evangelism at a school of applied re- ligion devised by the national council of the Episcopal church. It will be a department of the forty-ninth trien- nial convention of the church this fall in Washington, D. C. Other courses will be on religion in college, methods of financing missionary enterprises, and work among the children and adults. i Mrs. Edward W. Uhlemann, 162 Fuller lane, vice-president of the Sun- beam league of Chicago, was among those interested in the tea to be given by the kindergarten of the Martha Washington home for crippled chil- dren at 4448 South Michigan boule- vard, Chicago, last Wednesday. This is one of the league's summer projects. Mrs. Uhlemann is leaving for New York next week-end to meet her daughter, Janet, who is returning Sep- tember 3, from a summer abroad. ri Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Reid, 561 Cherry street, entertained for Mr. and Mrs. Todd Hyatt and Todd, Jr. of Orlando, Fla. Mrs. H. O. K. Meister and her son, Jimmy, of Montclair, N. J, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Vander- Hoogt of Chicago were her guests for dinner Wednesday night, also. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dillon and family of 1108 Spruce street are at their sumer cottage at Petosky, Mich., for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. David Kennicott of 1111 Spruce street mo- tored up this week to be their guests for a few days. --(-- Mrs. Charles Coyle, 1096 Cherry street, and their young daughter, Mary Louise, returned this week from a short trip to Menominee Falls, Wis., where they went to attend the wed- ding of a cousin. --O-- Mr. and Mrs. Coram T. Davis of 132 Bertling lane entertained Tuesday night at the Edgewater Beach hotel for Mrs. O. S. Hill of Kansas City who is here following the Women's Western Golf tournament. --in Robert E. Gonsalves, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Gonsalves left Tuesday, August 14, on a tour to Salt Lake city, Colorado Springs, and the Yellowstone National park with his sister, Georg- ianna, and brother, Gordon. --(-- Mr. and Mrs. Chester Van Buskirk, 1096 Spruce street, are leaving this week-end for a motor trip east. Their young son, Grant, will accompany them. --Q-- Mr. J. M. Coulter, 1065 Chatfield road, left last Tuesday on a three week's fishing trip. He will go to Whyllisville, Canada. --p-- Mrs. Philip Seeley and young son of 902 Pine street are in Edgerton, Wis., for the rest of the summer visiting Mrs. Seeley's parents. --O-- Miss Mary S. King and her brother, S. Bowles King of 672 Maple avenue have returned from a three weeks' stay at Diamond G ranch in Wyoming. ------ Mr. and Mrs. John S. Miller of 700 osewood avenue are spending the summer at Chatham, Mass. E. F. Wieboldt Buys Block in Glencoe to Build Home Elmer F. Wieboldt of Glencoe has purchased from Clarence E. Chapman of New York an entire block of resi- dential property in Glencoe. This is known locally as Block 17. It com- prises six and one-half acres and pro- jects westerly from Grove street into the grounds of the Skokie Country club, two blocks south of the club house. Mr. Wieboldt intends to erect a resi- dence on two or three acres and to dispose of the rest as two or three homesites. All of the proposed sites will have frontage on the golf course. Gilbert D. Johnson & Brother nego- tiated the transaction, and will also represent Mr. Wieboldt in the retail- ing of parcels in his new purchase. Miss Jean Armstrong of 365 Sheri- dan road has Miss Virginia Normer of Detroit as her houseguest. HAVE REUNION DINNER The "Hungry Twelve," a dinner club of north shore residents which was in existence several years ago, met last Monday night in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Coram T. Davis, Bertling lane, for a reunion dinner. Two couples meeting with the club were from the opposite coasts of the United States, Mr. and Mrs. George Slocum, former residents of Wilmette now living in Fresno, Cal, and Mr. and Mrs. Todd Hyatt, former residents of Winnetka, now of Orlando, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Slocum left Tuesday after a week's visit with her sister, Mrs. Delbert Poff of 739 Walden road. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Hurd and her daughter, Natalie, of 518 Sunset road returned last Tuesday from their sum- mer home at Long lake, Wis., where they spent three weeks. Miss Jean Ashman of Deerfield was Miss Nata- lie's guest there.
