Office, Longbeach 7830 Kenilworth 1576 for Glencoe Building Figures for July Show Big Increase Building construction figures re- leased this week for July 1928 show that the Village of Glencoe spent $76,- 735 more on building projects during that month than during the corres- ponding month in 1927. There was a 54 per cent increase, the comparative figures being $216,585 for July 1928 and $139,850 for July 1927. At the same time there was a de- crease in building construction in Wil- mette, Kenilworth, and Winnetka. Glencoe also enjoyed a 283 per cent increase during last month over the previous month in building construc- tion. Suburban building construction par- alled the city of Chicago in display- ing the building gain in July over the same month last year. Out of thirty-four comparable sub- urbs, according to the building survey department of the S. W. Straus com- pany, the July gain was 18 percent while the gain over June this year was nine percent. Elmwood Park outdistanced all the other suburbs in July gains with a record of $1,472,940 as against $102,305 last year, or a gain of 1,339 percent.
