Sermon by Mr. Goodwin "A Tent and the Stars." ap Kissel Company Gets Big Taxicab, Truck Contract The Kissel Motor Car company has closed a large contract for building motor coaches, taxicabs, and trucks for the recently organized Bradfield Mo- tors, Inc., of Chicago. The new con- tract is said to be the largest received by the Kissel company since it built trucks for the government during the war. It is reported that the contract will require the Kissel company prac- tically to double its production in the next twelve months. Manufacturers to Offer Unlimited Tire Guaranty Tire dealers throughout the country were informed this week by Gen. Lin- coln C. Andrews as director general of the newly organized rubber institute, that 44 tire manufacturers producing 95 per cent of the tires made in this country hereafter will guarantee their oroducts against defects in material and workmanship during the life of the tire. Grade Accidents Show Decrease During 1927 While the general accident rate for automotive traffic went up ten per cent in 1927, and while the number of au- tomobiles on the highways increased five per cent, fatalities from grade crossing accidents decreased four per cent, according to latest statistics. TESTS SAVE MONEY Standard tests used by manufactur- ers have increased the life of the aver- age brake lining four times and have saved the country about $15,000,000 annually, according to the American Automobile association. BUS LINES UNDER RIVER The construction of the Holland ve- hicular tunnel under the Hudson river at New York has resulted in the be- ginning of seventeen new bus lines traveling through the tunnel.
