Potsey Clark, the new gridiron mentor at Butler, is expected to bring a husky eleven on the Evanston in- vasion and a stiff encounter is in prospect. In John Cavosic and Alan "Red" Framuth, the Bulldogs have two vet- eran backs who are depended upon to bear, the brunt of the visitors' attack. These two boys will be called on for most of the punting and drop kicking. Other dependable backs are Francis Royse, George Nulf, Harold Temple- ton, Clean Reynolds and Hubert "Cur- ley" Hinchman. The latter, a full- back, is a newcomer to the squad of whom much is expected. "WHAT IS TRUTH?"--TOPIC The next Baha'i lecture will be giv- en Sunday, Spetember 30, at 4 o'clock, in foundation hall, Linden avenue near Sheridan road, Wilmette. Dr. Albert R. Vail will speak on the subject: -- "The Independent Search for Truth. Just What Is Truth." This is the sec- ond of a new series of lectures on modern world and spiritual subjects to be given from the Baha'i or uni- versal standpoint by Dr. Vail and to be continued each Sunday through October. The later topics will be announced through these columns. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Truex of Sun- set Ridge entertained about fifty chil- dren yesterday for their daughter, Carolyn, who celebrated her fifth birth- day. Tennis Players at New Trier Battle for Class Honors Kaufman and MacLean have ad- vanced to the semi-finals of the sen- ior class championship in New Trier's fall tennis tournament. The winners between Rogers and Koretz and Glov- er and Brown will also be in the Sen- ior semi-finals. Morris, ranking player at Senn High last year, will play the winner of the match between Ludwig and Swabacker for the junior champion- ship. Kavanaugh and Mee will play for the sophomore championship Satur- day and the champion of the fresh- men class will be the victor of the match between Hoffman and Shelley. Seven teams are in the second round of the doubles tournament now. As the doubles contests are carried on between advisor rooms the names of their advisors are put in parenthe- ses after each team. The teams are :-- Stanton - Livingston (Nay), Ray - Prouty (Nay), Ludwig-Kelley (Buck- ingham), Cohn - Morris (Jackson), Dickesnon-Glover (Schumacher), Red- head - Milton (Walton), Banta - Mac- Lean (Walton). GOLF TOURNEY PLAYED A golf tournament similar to the tennis tourney now in progress at New Trier High school will be started soon. The entry list which closed Wednesday afternoon indicated a good deal of interest on the part of the students. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo T. Folger have moved to Rock Island, Ill, where Mr. Folger has been appointed manager of the Fort Armstrong hotel. Mrs. Fol- ger, formerly Miss Luella Burrows, was a bride of this past summer.
